Fat Candiru Press was created in 2003 to independently promote and publish 'bad poetry' that celebrated poetry's potential for humor and entertainment as well as art. Since Fat Candiru's inception nearly a dozen titles have been published and the scope has expanded from 'bad poetry' to poetry that challenges the widely accepted beliefs of what poetry can and can not be. FCP continues to discover new writers who approach poetry with a playful mean streak.

Yes, my initials are J.E.W. My Bar Mitzvah theme was “Planet Jon." (Slightly narcissistic). I’m an odd eater…I won’t eat meat on the bone or steak but I love chicken tenders and well-done cheeseburgers. I was Alf for Halloween, five years in a row. The first time I drove to high school I hit a pole…and it was in the parking lot. I’m terrified of eternal hiccups. That’s basically it. I hope you enjoy the following stories from my life…I know it’s egocentric to write a book about yourself but I guess I’m still basking in the glory days of my Bar Mitzvah.
